So I was awake late last night as I usually am, just flipping channels, and I stumbled upon Ego Trip’s Miss Rap Supreme, which was awful and comical @ the same time. I am never one to sh#t on anybodies dream, but I couldn’t tell if this was purposely meant to be comical, or if it was meant to be seriously promoting female participation in the Hip Hop genre of music. While I will say they had more rap skills than me, which means very little, but I will say this is exactly why their is a decline in Hip Hop when it comes to females.
That isn’t to say their isn’t any talented female emcee’s, but when you put forth emcee’s in general that aren’t interested in perfecting their craft, who are just in it for the limelight or whatever reason, this is what happens, it becomes a beauty show (see video above)… Maybe it’s me that is taking the whole premise of the show as a joke, and I’m the one that’s trippin’, but I doubt it.
