I read about this earlier, but it appears you can now get months for killing a human being if they are of Latin descent. Well, if you have Derrick Donchak and Brandon Piekarsky’s lawyers in a small town in Pennsylvania. While we are on the subject, let us not forget about Donte Stallworth who got 30 days and probation for the DUI manslaughter of Mario Reyes. That’s another story for another day. Luis Ramirez lost his life in a “street fight” where he was reported jumped, beaten, and put in a coma by a group of young men, including Derrick Donchak & Brandon Piekarsky. Now, if you want to throw out all the racial nonsense and get down to the nitty gritty of a man losing his life than so be it because it’s best to deal in logic. The two young men were charged with simple assault, therefore, indicating they were in fact the cause of the young man, Luis Ramirez, being in a coma. Well, Luis Ramirez died as a result of that before mentioned simple assault, so doesn’t that mean the other man are responsible for his death? Is that too much logic or do I have something wrong here?

Now, here is the kicker… Fred Fanelli, a lawyer for one of the boys was actually disappointed at the length of the sentencing [wtf]. The young men beat a man to death, and they all get months for it ~ not years but months and that’s cause for being upset? However, the Govenor of Pennsylvania felt otherwise: “The evidence suggests that Mr. Ramirez was targeted, beaten and killed because he was Mexican,” Rendell said. “Such lawlessness and violence hurts not only the victim of the attack but also our towns and communities that are torn apart by such bigotry and intolerance.” He also sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder that recommending some type of civil rights charges be filed…

This shit is ridiculous! The justice system is so crooked and it MAKES people not have faith in it! It bends to accommodate such horrid criminals such as this case in PA. How can ANYONE in their right mind not recognize murder for what it is…manslaughter at least! I could accept manslaughter more that simple assault…Simple Assault, really??? That some bullshit and hearing stories like this as well as the Stallworth case makes folks want to go postal…

Back when I was young idiot in Chicago and someone received a light sentence they would brag ” I could do that time standing on my dick.”
The time that these thugs received, I could do that time bouncing on my testicles.
It ain’t no time. It is a blink of the eye. Sports seasons last longer than the sentence imposed in Shenandoah for killing a Mexican.

Yea, I’m not understanding why [I mean I do] they got such a light sentence. Somebody died as a result of their actions. I thought that was enough? How/why does it matter how it started because we all see how it ended. I had a friend of a friend’s borther [black guy] be @ the scene of a something similar to this, and I think they all got sent away and charged w/ reckless endangerment, manslaughter, or murder – it was a long time ago….

Exactly, this is where my outrage is coming from. Let’s reverse the situation, white man in a predominately white town is killed by beatings from 6 latino high school students. Oh puh-lezzz, we all know they’d be in for murder. Why is that when it’s white boys, it’s “good boys placed in a bad situation” but completely changes when they are Latinos or Black.

Well, what you seem to be missing is the part about how Ramirez himself ran back after the boys after the simple street fight was over, punching them in the back of the head, calling his friends to come with guns. The guy who showed up with a gun, Diego Tovar (AKA Jesse Hernandez) testified during the trial that Ramirez called him and asked him to bring a “9mm” to the scene. When the third fight started, Ramirez ran over 100 feet back towards the teen boys and started laying punch after punch onto the head of one of the boys (the one charged as a juvenile). In response, another boy punched Ramirez one time, and then immediately after, the juvenile boy kicked Ramirez in the head one time.
I know without all the pertinent evidence and testimony, it’s easy to think that ‘white teens got away with murdering a Mexican because he was brown’ but that is not what happened at all.

I wasn’t aware of that… Did the teens use that as a defense in the case? I’m only assuming Ramirez’s friends didn’t show up. I can’t say I know all the facts but when a guy dies in a street fight, somebody is supposed to go away for a long time – I don’t care what color they are. Unless your life is in immediate danger, self defense doesn’t hold up in court. Threats don’t count as immediate danger. But the way the media presented it, you can see the confusion… ?

Both sides have their own story but at the end the real FACT is that one man is DEAD due to a SEVERE BEATING by some teenagers. How can the death of somebody only generate a 6 month sentence. I am still trying to figure out the math.

I saw a special report on this on TV about two weeks ago. The one of the jury members stated that even before the trial began, the all white jury had already acquitted the “good teens.” The prosecution had initially requested to move the trial to another jurisdiction because the chance of a fair trial was remote. There’s no doubt that the people of that town view latino’s as subhuman, even though they are the epitome of white trash. On this special report, a number of them were associating “loving your country” with having all the “mexicans deported.” See, the arrogance and narrow-mindedness of these caucasians is the reason so many countries hate the U.S. When are these people going to accept globalization…especially when latinos are more indiginous to this country than they ever will be? That’s fine though…give it a few years and one of their grand kids will be marrying one of ours…para que se les quite!!!! They hate us but they wouldn’t hesitate to beg us for organs if their families needed it. Damn hypocrites.
