The Kid is Not My Son... he he!
Well, this is a new one, being jailed for child support when you don’t have any children. A little background from CNN: “Frank Hatley spent the past year in jail for being a deadbeat dad. But there’s one problem — Hatley doesn’t have any children… Superior Court Judge Dane Perkins ruled that Hatley was indigent and should not be jailed for not being able to make child support payments. Perkins postponed a decision on whether Hatley should have to make any more back payments on child-support for a child who is not his. In June of last year, a judge ordered Hatley to jail for failing to reimburse the state for public assistance that was paid to support his “son,” who, as the court was aware, is not actually his son.”
Now, I know this is a serious topic and there are plenty of dead beat dads that should be locked up for not taking care of their repsonsibilities, but Frank Hatley is obviously not one of those guys. In honor of Michael Jackson, push that play button and take a listen to Billy Jean…cause the kid is not my son. I wonder if his mother will now try to figure out who the father actually is? SMDH

jive time!

yeah, they do this a lot now.
it’s sad because it happens when you actually trust the woman and expect her to know who her dad is. and then a man finds out when the kid is like seven that it’s not his and the courts are now saying:
“you’ve been taking care of this child for this long, you will continue to take care of it til he/she is 18.”
are you kidding me? I get that you don’t want this woman and her child on public assistance but that’s when you jail her until she remembers who her baby daddy is and can prove it with a paternity test.

I would sue her lying about it, the county and the judge for jailing him and making him pay child support even after it was proven that he’s not the father.
Furthermore, make the gov’( pay child support.

I have the same case in Kentucky, I’m not the father, I thought it was mine because she told me it was, so I signed the Birth cert. Found out later it wasn’t. Now in my case it looks like I’m going to prison for 5 yrs on Aug. 14th because they placed me on 5 yrs Felony probation for failure to pay. But Since they took my lic. and won’t give it back, I can’t do my normal job, and have to rely on others for rides. The judge said I wasn’t trying hard enough to find another job and wants to revoke my probation.

Take the baby out of the equation. If this was any business deal that required him to make monthly payments, only to find out later that the deal was fake, then she would have been sued for FRAUD!

I just can’t believe this kind of thing happens. I don’t understand how any sane person could make the decision to force continued payment AFTER admitting the child is not his. Ridiculous.
