welcome to the 21st century
So I took my father to the Sprint Store in order to get him into the 21st century regarding his cellphone usage. He is pretty old school when it comes to phones because he still generally uses it for talking only. On his visit, I had been teasing him about his jive phone that’s so old jesus # was in it. Okay, that was a bit overstated, but you get the point. I am a Treo owner, and although it’s not the best kind of cell device, it gets er’ done. Also, after numerous requests to take timeouts during the day to go back to the house, so he could check his email and correspond with some folks, I had enough..LoL
While we were eating @ a restaurant, I figured I’d give it one more try to convince him;) Luckily, we were @ a bar, and they had the NFL Network on, so I pulled out my phone, touched a few buttons on my screen & the retro game we were watching on the big screen popped up on my phone ~ he was sold! So to make this clear, it wasn’t the email capabilities, internet access, GPS access, better technology ~ it was the option to watch the NFL Network on his phone that made this possible…
Off we went to the Sprint Store to make a purchase. The guy was pretty friendly, and I did most of the talking, but the OG was looking for email capability, internet access, and basically a phone that would afford him the advantage of no longer being tied down to a computer. The salesman did his best to sell us the Palm Pre, but said he wasn’t ready for all of that…LoL
Now, I have to learn the ins & outs of Blackberry pretty fast in order to give a quick tutorial before he heads back home. Any suggestions about good applications for the Blackberry since I’m a Palm Treo owner?
